George M. Martin Receives Prestigious Fondation IPSEN Award & is Elected
President of GSA
George M. Martin, Ellison Medical Foundation Scientific Advisory Board member, has
recently received two outstanding honors. He has been chosen to receive the Fondation
IPSEN’s 2001 Longevity Prize of 100,000 FF for his outstanding contributions to the field
of longevity. The Fondation IPSEN was established in France in 1983 under the patronage
of the Fondation de France to facilitate and encourage scientific knowledge exchange between
research scientists and clinicians. Dr. Martin has also been elected President of the
Gerontological Society of America and will assume office in November 2002 at the
conclusion of the GSA’s 55th Annual Scientific Meeting in Boston, MA.
