Melanie Craft Ellison is a graduate of Oberlin College and the
American University in Cairo , Egypt . She is the author of three
novels, and an active supporter of Bay Area charitable groups
that address issues of community development and social welfare. |

Executive Director- Richard L. Sprott, Ph.D.
Before joining the Foundation as its first Executive Director in 1998, Dr. Sprott conducted research on behavioral genetics at The Jackson Laboratory and then directed the program on the Biology of Aging at the National Institute on Aging (NIA), NIH. A major focus of his career has been the development of animal models for aging research. He developed a nationwide research program of research on biomarkers of aging and the effects of dietary restriction on longevity. He is an internationally recognized expert on animal model development and plays an active role in model development in countries around the world. He is also the President of the International Biogerontological Resource Institute in Friuli , Italy.

Office Administrator– Lisa Glazier
Before joining the Foundation, Ms. Glazier co-owned a small business. She is responsible for many administrative and financial management functions within the Foundation, and interacts closely with awardee institutions.

Program Specialist – Jamie Thompson
Ms. Thompson previously worked within the Grants Management Branch of NIAID, and at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. At the Foundation, her major role is in the management of grant systems and records. Contact Jamie

Program Manager and Research Communications Specialist– Carol Rocha
Ms. Rocha was previously employed as a Program Analyst with the Biology of Aging Program at NIA. She is responsible for oversight of publicity, conferences and workshops, research reporting, and serves as Editor for the Newsletter and the Website.

Budget Analyst – Margaret Sprott, M.A.
Ms. Sprott is a registered nurse with background experience in computer financial management. She handles all financial record keeping, budget reports, and payouts in the Maryland office.
